Charleston 5K Fall Season Celebratory 5K
The event is the Fall Season Celebratory 5K hosted by Girls on the Run Coastal South Carolina. It takes place on November 14, 2026 at Wando High School in Mount Pleasant, SC. The course length is 5K (3.1 miles) and is described as accessible for people with disabilities; designated parking spots are available and free parking is provided at the school.
The 5K serves as the season-ending celebration for program participants and includes a commemorative medal for everyone in the program. Registered participants who meet the t-shirt cut off receive a t-shirt. Program participants have already been registered for the 5K and do not need to register again. Non-program participants face a registration fee that increases in stages: Early Bird online pricing from Oct 12 to Nov 1 is listed at $15–25, and general online pricing from Nov 2 to mid-November is $20–35.
Safety measures include required race bibs, assignment of a running buddy for each participant, course monitoring with head counts, and a council safety plan that trains staff and volunteers for emergency response. A running buddy is a person who accompanies a participant for the entire course and parents or guardians may serve as running buddies.
Additional on-site activities include water stations, face painting, happy hair stations, merchandise for sale, and festival elements. Volunteers support setup, registration, course marshals, running buddy roles, water and cheer stations, and similar tasks; volunteers appointed through the council undergo a background check.
