Turkey Day 5K - Minneapolis
The Turkey Day 5K is a 5K held on Thanksgiving through Downtown Minneapolis. The event follows a long-standing holiday tradition of running or walking in the city before the day’s main festivities. Participants receive a finisher medal.
Event pages include information on registration, pricing, packet pick up, parking, spectator support, training and a downloadable course map. Corrals are not assigned; participants are asked to line up according to posted guidance and pace signs. A designated corral is set aside for walkers and for participants pushing strollers.
Strollers are permitted in the 5K when indicated on registration; stroller participants sign a special waiver and receive a stroller bib at packet pick up. Pets are requested to remain on the sidelines and not accompany runners through the Finish Controlled Zone. One runner may pick up another runner’s packet when the correct name and registration address are provided.
Refunds are available within 48 hours of registration; limited refund and transfer options apply and the organizer does not offer a deferral program. Street parking in Downtown Minneapolis is free on Thanksgiving morning, and advance parking reservations are recommended. Participants and volunteers ride free with Metro Transit on race day by obtaining a transit pass in advance. The event uses an Event Alert System with color coded flags to communicate adverse weather. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
