Turkey Day 5K: Minneapolis
The Turkey Day 5K is a Thanksgiving running event held through Downtown Minneapolis. Participants receive a medal and the event is described as a casual holiday 5K experience that follows a city course.
Event operations include packet pick up and a course map with full race details provided to participants. One runner may pick up another runner’s packet when the correct spelling and registration address are provided. Corrals are not assigned; there is a corral for participants planning to run or walk and a separate corral for walkers and stroller participants.
Strollers are permitted in any 5K distance. Stroller participants must indicate this on their registration, sign a special waiver, and will receive a special stroller bib at packet pick up. Dogs and other pets are asked to remain on the sidelines and reunite with participants after exiting the Finish Controlled Zone.
Parking notes state that street parking in Downtown Minneapolis is free on Thanksgiving morning and that there are no-parking restrictions along the route and near the start and finish areas. Participants and volunteers receive free Metro Transit access on race day. The event uses a color coded Event Alert System to communicate adverse weather conditions during the event.
Refunds are available within 48 hours of registration while the policy is in effect until five days before the event; online transaction fees are non-refundable. The organizer does not offer a deferral program at this time. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
