Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk - Portland, ME
The Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk in Portland is a timed 5K (3.1 miles) event held at Payson Park, 755 Baxter Blvd, Portland, ME. The event honors a New York City firefighter who lost his life on September 11, 2001 and supports first responders and military families through the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
Participants may run or walk the course. Registration categories and fees listed by the organizer include: Adult registration ($25), First Responders and Military ($20), Youth 13 to 17 ($10), and Child 12 and under ($5). Registration opens April 1 and closes April 8 per the event listing. All sales are final; transfers to another participant are permitted.
There will be a water station along the route and water at the start and finish, with very limited water at the start line. Early packet pick-up will occur at Amethyst Lot Park on race day and an additional early pick-up day is to be determined. A designee may pick up a packet with a copy of the registrant’s receipt. Bib numbers must be displayed on the front of the outermost garment; participants without a bib will not be allowed to finish.
Strollers, wheelchairs, and backpacks are permitted; roller blades, bicycles, and pets are not. Parking at the park is limited. Registration includes a T2T Portland event T-shirt, though shirts are not guaranteed for race day registrants; a registration deadline of August 10 is listed to guarantee a shirt. Fundraising options and prize levels are available for participants, and funds raised are donated to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation to support its programs.
