Tunnel to Towers 5K Run and Walk - Portland, ME
The Tunnel to Towers 5K Run and Walk in Portland, Maine is a timed 5K (3.1 miles) event held at Edward Payson Park, 115 Thames St, Portland, ME 04101 on August 29, 2026. Registration categories include Adult, First Responders and Military, Youth (13 to 17 years), and Child (12 and under) with different entry fees. Registration opens April 1, 2026 and the provided registration window closes April 8, 2026.
Participants may run or walk the course. A water station will be available along the route and water will be available at the start and finish, with very limited water at the start line. The event requires bibs to be displayed on the front of the outermost garment; those without a bib will be asked to leave the course and will not be allowed to finish. The event allows strollers, wheelchairs, and backpacks; roller blades, bicycles, and pets are not permitted. Personal belongings are the responsibility of their owners and should be secured in vehicles when possible.
Packet pick up will be available at the Amethyst Lot Park on the day of the event, with an additional early pickup day to be determined. Registration includes an event T shirt though shirts are not guaranteed for on day registrations; to guarantee a 2026 T shirt participants must register by August 10. All sales are final but registrations may be transferred with organizer approval. Funds raised will be donated to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation to support programs for fallen first responders and veteran families; 95% of donations to the Foundation go directly into their programs.
