Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk - Northern KY
This event is a timed 5K (3.1 miles) run and walk held in Crescent Springs, Kentucky at 800 Buttermilk Pike. Participants may walk or run the course. The event was created to honor the life and death of a New York City firefighter who died on September 11, 2001 and to support first responders and military personnel.
Registration is available in several categories with set fees: adult, first responders and military, youth (13 to 17), and child (12 and under). Same day registration is available, with higher fees for day-of registrants, and event shirts cannot be guaranteed without advance registration. Online registration remains open until the event start.
Packet pickup is available prior to race day at TriState Running Company in Edgewood, KY, and packets will also be available at the park on the day of the event. Packets will not be mailed if not picked up.
Facilities and rules noted for participants include: bibs must be displayed on the front of the outermost garment; water stations will be available on the route and at the park; several parking lots are available within walking distance and shuttle service will run from the Park and Ride on Buttermilk; no parking is allowed inside the park. Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted. Participants are advised to store personal items securely in their vehicles as the foundation is not responsible for lost items.
Donations and fundraising are supported; donations will be accepted for six weeks after the event. Registration fees are not refundable but registrations may be transferred to another person. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
