Tunnel to Towers 5K Run and Walk - Medina, OH
The Tunnel to Towers 5K in Medina is a community event that honors first responders and remembers the events of September 11, 2001. This edition is the thirteenth held in Medina and features a single 5K distance for running or walking. The event supports the Tunnel to Towers Foundation and its programs.
Packet pickup is available at Medina Fire Department Station 1 on Friday, September 11 (12:00 to 19:00) and Saturday, September 12 (08:00 to 16:00), and on the north side of the Medina Historic Public Square on race day morning (07:00 to 08:00). Municipal lots and parking garages are located near the Square. Online and day-of registration remain open until the start; registrants who register late may not receive a shirt or guaranteed merchandise.
Participants must display their bib on the front of the outermost garment. Runners predicting faster paces are seeded in the front corral; first responders in gear start behind them; walkers, strollers and participants with dogs are placed last. Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted with a delayed start; firefighter turnout gear and military backpacks are also permitted. A water station is located at the Fire Station on the route and water is available at the Square/finish. Emergency medical services and radio communications will be on site.
