About the race
The Crowell Hilaka Trail Run takes place at Richfield Heritage Preserve in Richfield, OH and is organized by Fast Girls Running Company. The event offers three distances:
- 50K
- Half marathon
- 10K
The course follows a six mile loop that will be repeated five times for the 50K, two times for the half marathon, and once for the 10K. Terrain includes primitive single track (including the Buckeye Trail), bridle trails, open fields, and camp roads. Runners can expect mud, slippery rocks, exposed roots, minor water crossings, and a short paved section of 0.6 miles added to the 2026 route to improve navigation. The race is held in mid September when autumn colors begin to appear.
Aid stations will provide water, energy gels, and salty and sugary snacks, with more substantial offerings available later on the course for the 50K. Bib pickup is at the start location in the summer barn on race day; Saturday pickup may be possible while the course is being marked and participants will be notified after registration closes. Awards are given to overall and masters, male and female, for each distance. Unisex T-shirts will be ordered on 2026-08-28; availability depends on registration timing.
