Event overview
The River Run Half Marathon takes place in Berea, Ohio on September 13, 2026. The event includes three options: the River Run Half, the River Run Half - Walk Division, and a Virtual Half Marathon. The race was established in 2000 and uses a USATF-certified, point-to-point course covering 13.1 Miles.
Course and on-course services
The route starts at Wallace Lake (Cleveland Metroparks) and finishes at Memorial Fields (Rocky River). The course follows paved roads through the Rocky River Reservation and features a gentle downhill grade. Aid stations are located at miles 2.5, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 (water at every stop; Gatorade at miles 6, 8, 10, 12; CarbBoom gels at miles 6 and 8). Restrooms are available at miles 2.5, 4, 6.5, 8 and 10. EMS support is provided on course and at the finish, with a medical tent by Chamberlain College of Nursing. Gear check and complimentary shuttle service are provided.
Registration, packet pickup and rules
Online registration opens January 1, 2026 and uses tiered pricing: first 100 registrants $70, registrants 101–300 $80, registrants 301+ $90; the Virtual Half is $70. There is no race-day registration. Packet options include mailed delivery (add-on fee available through August 28), in-person pickup during race week, or race-morning pickup for an added fee. Minimum age to participate is 12 years. Awards are given by overall, masters (60+) and age-group placements; awards are not mailed after the event.
