PS I Love You 5K and 1 Mile
The PS I Love You event is an annual memorial race held in Akron, Ohio, starting and finishing at the Kohl Family YMCA. This event honors the legacy of Patrick Steurer, a local runner and dedicated YMCA member. The race serves to remember his positive spirit and his commitment to the running community.
Participants can choose from two different distances:
- 5K chip-timed run
- 1 Mile untimed walk
The 5K race features a bib-tag timing system to provide results for participants. Awards are presented to the top overall male and female finishers, as well as the top performers in the master (60 and over) and junior (18 and under) categories. The 1 Mile walk is a non-competitive, untimed option for those preferred a shorter distance.
The event allows dogs to participate alongside their owners. Information from the organizers specifies that those bringing dogs should line up at the back of the starting group and must keep their pets on a short leash at all times. Participants who register by the beginning of September are guaranteed an event t-shirt. The course utilizes the streets of downtown Akron near the YMCA facility.
