P.S. I Love You 5K and 1 Mile
The event is a community running and walking event held at the Kohl Family YMCA, 477 E. Market St., Akron, OH 44304. It includes two course options:
- 5K Run
- 1 Mile Walk
Pre-registration runs from March 30, 2026 through August 31, 2026 at 11:59 PM for $30. Regular registration continues from September 1, 2026 through race day for $35. Registrants who register before September 1 are guaranteed a t-shirt; t-shirts are not guaranteed for later registrations.
The 5K is bib-tag chip timed. The 1 Mile Walk is untimed.
The event honors a late YMCA member who was an avid runner; he completed a half marathon in under two hours and was training for his first full marathon when he died during a training run. The event recognizes his connection to the downtown YMCA and his positive impact on others there.
Awards are given for overall top finishers, junior overall (18 and under), masters overall (60+), and multiple age groups, listed by decade from 19–29 through 80 and over. A specialty "Top Dog" award recognizes a pet and its owner; pets should be kept on a short leash and line up in the back. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
