Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk - Loudon, TN
The Tunnel to Towers 5K in Loudon is a charity run and walk held to honor first responders, remember September 11, 2001, and support the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. The event covers a distance of 5K (3.1 miles) and is presented as a commemorative reenactment of a 3+ mile run tied to the events of September 11, 2001. It is not promoted as a competitive, timed race; frontline start positions are available for faster runners.
Packet pickup takes place in the Loudon Fire & Police Department Training Room at 100 Cedar Street. Pickup is scheduled for the day before and the morning of the event. Same day registration is available on site in the morning, and online registration remains open until the event begins. Registration fees vary by category: adult, first responders and military, youth 13 to 17, and child 12 and under.
The course will have two water stations along the route and water at the finish. Strollers, walkers, and wheelchairs are permitted. Leashed dogs and pet strollers are allowed. Firefighter turnout gear and military backpacks may be worn by participants. Emergency medical service staff will be on site and radio communication will be available along the course.
