Run Your Mutt 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk/Run
Monroe County Friends of Animals (MCFA) is sponsoring the third annual 5K and one mile walk/run to benefit homeless and abandoned dogs and cats in Monroe County. The event takes place at Kefauver Park in Madisonville on the paved path that circles the lake.

- 5K run
- 1 mile walk/run
Dogs are encouraged but not required to participate. Dogs must be kept on leash at all times. Multiple water stations will be available for both humans and dogs, and poop bags will be provided. Kefauver Park remains open to other users during the event, so participants may encounter other walkers or runners on the trail.
Event timing and race services are provided by East Coast Adventures. All participants will receive a medal, an event T-shirt, and a SWAG bag. Special recognition will be given to the top three male and top three female finishers. Dogs adopted from the Monroe County Animal Shelter will receive an alumni bandana.
Registration opens on 2026-03-20 and closes on 2026-09-10. The registration fee is $35.00. Registrations received after 2026-08-24 may not receive an event T-shirt due to ordering lead times. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
