Event
The event is a community 5k held as part of the Weekday Race Series (one of eight events in 2026). Points from this race also count toward the Year-Long 5k and Back of the Pack series. The distance offered is 5k. The event is chip timed and finishers receive a medal. Shirts are not provided. Walkers are welcome.
Registration for the 5k is listed at $22, with the price increasing by $5 on race day. Race day registration and packet pickup are available at the venue; participants are advised to arrive about one hour before the event to register or check in. Live results will be posted on Athlinks and a QR code will be available at the race. Final results with series points are posted on the event website the Monday after the race. Event photos taken by staff are posted to the organiser’s Facebook page by the Tuesday after the event.
Course and logistics
The course begins and ends at Burke Lake Park, Shelter C (7315 Ox Rd, Fairfax Station, VA). The route is mostly paved with a short gravel section and limited elevation gain. A 10k option is described in course maps as an out-and-back run completed twice. One water station is located on the 5k course at about mile 1.55; Gatorade may be available at some stations. Restrooms are located by the parking lot at Shelter A. The event is run in most weather conditions; organisers may delay, change, or postpone the event for adverse conditions and will notify registered participants.
