Eastern County 8K 2026 : Martin Luther King Park
The Eastern County 8K is held at Martin Luther King Park in Silver Spring, MD. The course starts at the stripe in the road at the first entrance to the playground parking lot on the approach from Jackson Road. The turnaround is aligned with the center court lines of the basketball courts and the hiker-biker trail in the woods. The finish is located near the first perpendicular from the restroom wall on the approach from the parking lot to the hiker-biker trail. A full course map is available.

- 8K course following park roads and the hiker-biker trail.
- 0.8 mile Young Run around the lake.
The event is part of MCRRC’s low-key race series and is included in related series categories such as the Youth Running Series and CS Championship Series. The 8K race is free for MCRRC members who have signed up for a 2026 bib and chip; members may exchange older chips or provide a $5 deposit if needed. Non-members pay a registration fee of $22 for adults and $11.60 for participants under 18; these prices include processing fees. Online registration remains available on the day of the event, and bib and chip pickup occurs on race morning near the start area.
Youth runs are untimed and free but require prior registration by a parent or guardian. The event is staffed by volunteers; volunteers are requested.
