Event
The 2026 Mason District 5k & 10k takes place on August 29, 2026 at Mason District Park in Annandale, Virginia. The event is organized by Bishops Events and offers both an in-person race and a virtual race option. Walkers are welcome. Distances offered:

Registration fees listed include: 5k : $30 until Aug 15 ($35 after), 10k : $45 until Aug 15 ($50 after). Price increases by $5 on race morning. T-shirt sizes are guaranteed for runners registered before Aug 19.
Course and services
The course combines trails and paved paths through Mason District Park. The 5k is an out-and-back; the 10k is an out-and-back completed twice. The route includes some hills and occasional technical trail sections; a course map is provided by the organizer. Water stations:
- 10k: six stations at approximately miles 0.3, 1.55, 2.8, 3.4, 4.65 and 5.9
- 5k: three stations at approximately miles 0.3, 1.55 and 2.8 Gatorade will be available at some stations. Restrooms are located near the turf soccer field. Packet pickup and race-day registration are available at the event.
Runners receive a finisher medal, a technical (Dri-fit) event shirt, and chip timing. Live results will be posted on Athlinks and final results with series points will be posted the Monday after the race. Event photos taken by staff are posted after the event.
Competition and charity
Points from this race count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack series and toward the Summer Series. The event supports Spikes K9, a fund that provides training, care, and protection for active and retired working dogs serving military, law enforcement, search and rescue, and other public safety organizations.
Awards are given to the top three men and top three women overall, plus first and second place male and female in age groups: 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Runners who place top three overall are not eligible to also win their age groups. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
