Event overview
The Mason District 5k & 10k takes place on August 29, 2026, at Mason District Park in Annandale, VA. The event awards series points toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack Series and the Summer Series. Walkers are welcome and a virtual race option is available. Runners receive a finisher medal, a technical (Dri-fit) event shirt, and chip timing.

The course is a mix of trail and paved paths. The 5k is out-and-back; the 10k is two out-and-back laps. The route includes some hills and a few technical trail sections. Water stations are placed at approximately mile markers 0.3, 1.55, and 2.8 on the 5k. The 10k has six water stations at about 0.3, 1.55, 2.8, 3.4, 4.65, and 5.9 miles; Gatorade will be available at some stations. Restrooms are near the turf soccer field. Packet pickup is available at the event and race day registration is offered; shirt sizes cannot be guaranteed for race day registrants. T-shirts are guaranteed for entries received before August 19.
Top three men and women overall receive awards. First and second place male and female awards are given in age groups from 19 and under through 70 plus; overall top three finishers are not eligible for age-group awards.
