Event Overview
The Tuesday Night 5k is a chip-timed running event held at Lake Accotink Park in Springfield, Virginia. This event is part of the Weekday Race Series (one of eight events in 2026) and also contributes points to the Year-Long 5k and Back of the Pack Series.
Course Details
The race is a flat, paved out-and-back course on a route from Lake Accotink to Byron Ave. It is described as a fast and easy route. A 10k option runs the 5k course twice. One water station is positioned along the 5k course near the 1.55-mile mark, where Gatorade may be available.
Registration & Logistics
The registration fee for the 5k is $22, with a $5 increase on race day. Race-day registration is available. Participants receive a finisher's medal, but event shirts are not provided. Walkers are welcome. Packet pickup occurs at the event, and participants are recommended to arrive one hour before the start. Parking is at 7500 Accotink Park Rd, Springfield, VA.

Live results are posted on Athlinks.com and via a QR code at the race; final results with series points are posted on the organizer's website the following Monday. A "Back of the Pack" time is listed as 11:00 minutes per mile, which is not a cutoff but a reference point for a specific series. Restrooms are located near the beach at the top of a hill.
