Event Summary
The QAC Run to Honor 5K is a running event that includes a 5K and a 1 Mile distance. It takes place on the grounds of the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Triangle, Virginia.
Course Information
The course traverses the museum grounds. The 5K is two laps on a paved route with gently rolling terrain and some moderate elevation. The 1 Mile is a partial lap on the same property. Both distances start and finish near the museum entrance.
Additional Details
The event honors Brian Ray Hoke, a USNA graduate and former Navy SEAL. Walkers are encouraged to participate. A virtual race option is available. Event profits support STEM and Summer Seminar Camps at the United States Naval Academy.
Participants receive an event t-shirt and chip timing. T-shirts are guaranteed for registrations before May 2. Registration costs $35 before May 2, with a $5 increase on race day. Packet pickup is from 7:00 AM to 7:45 AM on race day at the start line area. There will be a brief remembrance ceremony at 7:45 AM before the race starts at 8:00 AM.
There is one water station on the 5K course. Restrooms in the museum foyer are available to participants. Abundant parking is available in the museum's main lot. The museum opens to the public at 9:00 AM, and race participants are welcome to visit for free.
Race results are posted live online and via a QR code at the event. The event is part of the organizer's Year-Long 5K, Back of the Pack, and Spring series, with participation earning points. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
