Fallen Soldiers Memorial 5k, 10k and Half
The event in Great Falls Maryland (11710 MacArthur Blvd) offers three race distances that run along the C&O Canal beside the Potomac River. Courses use a light gravel dirt road with minimal elevation change and are laid out as out-and-back routes.

Points from these races count toward the Year‑Long 5k, 10k, Endurance and Back of the Pack series, and toward the Spring Series. A virtual race option is available. Walkers and strollers are welcome. Race registration does not include park entrance fees; park pass specials including military passes may apply.
Participants receive a finisher medal, a technical Drifit event shirt, and chip timing is provided. Packet pickup is available at the event; organizers recommend arriving one hour before the event start time to check in. There will be no on-site race registration.
Aid and logistics: water stations are placed along each course : seven on the half marathon, four on the 10 km, and one on the 5 km : with Gatorade at some stations. Restrooms are located in the facility by the roundabout. Live results are posted during the race and final results with series points are published the Monday after the event. Photos taken by staff are posted the Tuesday after the event.
Awards: top three men and women overall plus age group awards for 19&Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Top three overall finishers are not eligible for age group prizes.
The event partners with Wounded Warriors in Action Foundation. The event follows National Park Service weather and safety clauses and may be postponed or adjusted for heat or other conditions. Banditing is not allowed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
