Event overview
The Fallen Soldiers Memorial event on May 25, 2026 takes place in Great Falls, Maryland. The event offers three distances:
- 5k
- 10k
- Half marathon
The routes run along the C&O Canal beside the Potomac River. The course surface is light gravel dirt with minimal elevation change and uses out-and-back layouts. The half marathon has a completion time limit of 3:15. The event partners with the Wounded Warriors in Action Foundation. A virtual race option is available.
Logistics and race features
Registration fees listed in the event information: 5k ($30 until May 15, then $35), 10k ($45 until May 15, then $50), half marathon ($65 until May 15, then $70). Price increases by $5 on race morning. Park entrance fees are not included. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before May 13; additional shirts are available later on a first-come, first-served basis.
Participants receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (Drifit) event shirt, and chip timing. Water stations are located as follows: seven along the half marathon, four on the 10k, and one on the 5k; some stations will offer Gatorade. Packet pickup is available at the event and there will be no on-site race registration. Live results will be posted on Athlinks and final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race.
