Event Overview
The Tyne Triathlon Club Lakeside Aquathlon is a multisport event organized by Tyne Triathlon Club. It features both adult and junior categories as part of a Grand-prix series. The course is based at the Killingworth Lakeside Centre in North Tyneside.
Distances and Categories
The event includes various age categories, each with specified swim and run distances:
- TriStars Start (8 years old): Swim 50m (2 lengths), Run 600m
- TriStars 1 (9-10 years old): Swim 150m (6 lengths), Run 1500m
- TriStars 2 (11-12 years old): Swim 200m (8 lengths), Run 2000m
- TriStars 3 (13-14 years old): Swim 300m (12 lengths), Run 3000m
- Youths (15-16 years old): Swim 400m (16 lengths), Run 4000m
- Juniors/Seniors (17+ years old): Swim 500m (20 lengths), Run 5000m
Event Information
The swim takes place in a pool, and participants are timed from their specified start time until they finish the run. There are no lane speed placements; faster swimmers may tap a foot to overtake. A British Triathlon Race Pass is required for participants who are not British Triathlon Home Nation members. Prizes are awarded for first, second, and third places in open and female categories for all TriStar, Junior, and adult age groups.
Logistics
Registration is available from 7:15 AM at the Lakeside Centre main hall, where race numbers are collected. A race briefing is scheduled for 8:10 AM. Participants need goggles and appropriate swim/run attire. The run course goes past a lake and through a wooded area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
