Run Northumberland Matfen 10k 2026 is a road race held in Matfen, Newcastle upon Tyne (NE20 0RA). The course is an accurately measured, traffic-free 10K that runs along country roads through Matfen Village, loops around the outskirts and finishes near Matfen Hall. The route is described as undulating. Chip timing is provided by Timing4Sport. The minimum age for entry is 15. Entries are capped at 300 and close on 14th September 2026. Entry fees are listed as £24 for affiliated runners and £26 for unaffiliated runners.
Logistics and prizes
Race headquarters and registration are at the Village Hall in Matfen. Facilities listed include bag drop, toilets, changing, parking opposite Matfen Hall on the quarry road, first aid, and refreshments. There is a water station at 5 km and distance markers at every kilometre. All finishers receive a bespoke medal; a race T-shirt is available at extra cost. Individual prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers, with trophies and Run Nation prizes for podium places. Veteran age-group prizes apply from Women 35+ and Men 40+ in five-year bands (a minimum of five finishers per band to qualify). Team prizes are awarded to UKA-affiliated clubs based on the positions of the first three male or female club members.
