Run Northumberland Matfen 10K
The event is a 10 km road race on undulating, traffic-free country roads around Matfen Village, finishing close to Matfen Hall. The course is accurately measured and uses chip timing provided by Timing4Sport. Distance markers are placed every kilometre and a water station is available at 5 km.
Race headquarters and registration are at the Village Hall in Matfen. The Village Hall also provides bag drop and toilet facilities; additional toilets are located near the start. Parking is available opposite Matfen Hall on the quarry road. First aid and refreshments are provided on race day.
Entry is limited to 300 places. The minimum age is 15. Entry fees are listed as £24 for affiliated runners and £26 for unaffiliated runners. Entries close on 14th September 2026.
All finishers receive a bespoke medal. An optional race T-shirt is available for an extra cost. Prizes include trophies and Run Nation prizes for the first three male and female finishers, age group prizes in W35+ and M40+ five year bands (minimum five runners per band to qualify), and team prizes for first male and female UKA affiliated clubs based on the positions of the first three runners from each club.
Due to UKA rules and insurance, in-ear headphones are not permitted and runners may not use prams or run with dogs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
