Run Northumberland Matfen 10K - 20 September 2026
Run Northumberland Matfen 10K is a road race held around Matfen Village, Newcastle upon Tyne. The route uses country roads, loops around the village outskirts and finishes within walking distance of Matfen Hall. The course is accurately measured and chip timed, with timing provided by Timing4Sport.
The event distance is 10 km on an undulating, traffic free road surface. Minimum entry age is 15. All finishers receive a bespoke medal and an optional race T‑shirt is available for an additional cost. There is a water station at 5 km and distance markers every kilometre. Event facilities include a race headquarters and registration at the Village Hall, bag drop, toilets near the hall and start area, parking opposite Matfen Hall on the quarry road, first aid and post-race refreshments.
Entry is limited to 300 runners. Affiliated entry fee is £24.00 and unaffiliated entry fee is £26.00. Entries close on 14th September 2026. The organiser does not permit in‑ear headphones, prams or dogs due to UKA rules and insurance.
Prizes include trophies and prizes for the first three men and women, age group prizes in 5-year bands for W35+ and M40+ (minimum five runners per band to qualify) and team prizes for UKA affiliated clubs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
