TSUNAMI Ocean Trails
TSUNAMI Ocean Trails runs along a remote section of the North Devon and Cornish coastline, following clifftops and cliff trails. The routes are predominantly coastal and pass through wild, isolated terrain with no towns or villages along parts of the course.
Distances and start locations:
- Ultra: Westward Ho! to Bude
- Marathon: Clovelly to Bude
- Sixteen: Hartland Quay to Bude
The marathon starts in Clovelly harbour and rises uphill on cobblestones through the village to reach the coast path, finishing on the lawns of Castle Bude. The marathon route includes almost 2,000 m of ascent. The ultra extends the marathon by about 11 miles. The sixteen mile race includes a steep, vertiginous section from Hartland Quay towards Bude.
Course management and services include full marking and marshals, first aid on course and at headquarters, and a bespoke medal for all finishers. Bus transport to the starts can be purchased as part of entry, with fares listed for Castle Bude to each start location. Dogs are not permitted with runners during the race due to insurance and permit limitations.
