TSUNAMI Ocean Trails : event overview

TSUNAMI Ocean Trails takes place on Saturday 6 June 2026 along the North Devon and Cornish coastline. The routes follow clifftops and coastal trails between towns and headlands in that area. The event uses remote, rugged terrain with significant ascent and descent. Courses are fully marked and marshalled, with first aid on course and at the event headquarters. A race permit is granted by the Trail Running Association. All finishers receive a bespoke medal.

Races, route and logistics

  • 37.5 miles - Ultra (Westward Ho! to Bude; adds about 11 miles beyond the marathon route)
  • Marathon - Clovelly to Bude; starts at Clovelly harbour and finishes on the lawns of Castle Bude
  • 16 miles - Sixteen (Hartland Quay to Bude; includes steep, vertiginous sections)

The marathon route includes almost 2,000 m of ascent. Bus transport from Castle Bude to race starts is available for purchase; listed prices include £15 for the Ultra and £12 for Marathon and Sixteen. Route maps and GPX files from the 2023 event are provided by the organiser. Entry periods and fees are published through the event entry system. Dogs are not permitted with runners during the race.
