Event Overview
Talan's Notorious Trail is a timed running event with three durations: 6-hour, 12-hour, and 24-hour. Participants run a 5-mile looped course repeatedly during their chosen time period. The course begins and ends at The Bay View Inn on Marine Drive in Widemouth Bay, Bude.
Course Details
The looped course is approximately 5 miles. It offers views over Widemouth Bay, follows a nature trail, passes a weir, and returns alongside the Bude canal. The event includes three small sections on public roads. For safety reasons, traditional headphones are not permitted on these sections; only bone-conducting headphones are allowed.
Registration and Entry
Entry is available for solo runners, pairs, and teams for each duration. A separate Cub Fun Run is also offered. Participants for the 6, 12, and 24-hour events must be 20 years or older on the event date. The event operates under a UK Athletics race license. Organizers do not accept transfers, deferrals, or cancellations, but refund protection can be purchased during entry.
Additional Information
The entry fee includes camping from Friday night through Monday morning for the competitor plus one adult and children under 16. The camping area is in a field adjacent to The Bay View Inn. All surplus money raised from the event will be donated to Talan's Trust, a charity funding research into childhood cancers and supporting affected siblings and teenagers.
