Talan’s Notorious Trail 24/12/6 hour
Talan’s Notorious Trail is a timed running event held 27 to 28 June 2026 at the Bay View Inn, Marine Drive, Widemouth Bay, Bude. Runners complete repeated circuits of a 5 mile loop that follows a scenic route overlooking Widemouth Bay, passes a nature trail to the Wier, and returns along Bude Canal to the bay.
The event offers these formats:
- 24 Hour
- 12 Hour
- 6 Hour
- Cub Fun Run
The 24, 12 and 6 hour events have a minimum age of 20 years on the event date. Entries are available for solo runners, pairs and teams. Camping is included with entry from Friday night through to Monday morning and covers the competitor plus one adult and children under 16. Camping is based in the field next to the Bay View Inn.
Entry fees vary by format and range from £7.50 for the Cub Fun Run to £89 for a solo 24 hour entry, with separate pair and team rates. Entries open 15 November 2025 and close 21 June 2026; entry numbers are listed on the organiser's entry system.
The event is organised by Bude Rats Run and Tri under a UK Athletics race licence. Surplus funds will go to Talan’s Trust to support awareness and research into childhood cancers and services for siblings and teenagers affected by teenage cancer. Small sections of road make standard headphones not permitted; bone conducting headphones are allowed though discouraged.
