Event overview
Talan’s Notorious Trail is a timed trail event held Saturday 27th to Sunday 28th June 2026 at The Bay View Inn, Marine Drive, Widemouth Bay, Bude, EX23 0AW. The event is organised by Bude Rats Run and Tri under a UK athletics race licence. The race uses a 5 mile looped course that looks out over Widemouth Bay, follows a nature trail to the Wier, then returns along Bude canal.

For the 24-, 12- and 6-hour events the minimum age is 20 years on the event date.

Entries were open from 15 November 2025 and close on 21 June 2026. Entry types include solo, pair and team options; solo fees listed are £89 (24 hour), £69 (12 hour) and £49 (6 hour). The Cub Fun Run fee is £7.50. Camping is included with entry from Friday night through Monday morning and covers the competitor plus one adult and children under 16. Camping is based in the field next to The Bay View Inn.
The organisers state they cannot accept transfers, deferrals or cancellations; refund protection and an XCover option are available. Bone-conducting headphones are permitted but headphones are not allowed on three small sections of road. All surplus money raised will go to Talan’s Trust to support childhood cancer research and services for affected siblings and teenagers.
