Talan’s Notorious Trail : Widemouth Bay, 10 to 11 July 2027
Talan’s Notorious Trail is a looped timed trail event held at Widemouth Bay, based at the Bay View Inn in Bude. The circuit follows a nature trail to the Weir with the return along the Bude canal. Entries include on-site camping in a field adjoining the Bay View Inn.
The event offers multiple timed options and community formats:
- 24 hour looped race
- 12 hour looped race
- 6 hour looped race
- 5 mile single loop
- Cub Fun Run for young participants
Age rules vary by event: the 24, 12 and 6 hour races require participants to be 20 years or older; the 5 mile loop is open to those 16 and older; the Cub Fun Run is for ages 4 to 15. Solo, pair and team entry options are available for the timed races. Entry fees differ by format and category, and a small discount applies for affiliated UKA runners on the timed races, the solo 5 mile loop and the Cub Fun Run.
A limited number of charity places are available for participants who commit to raising funds for Talan’s Trust; those places carry a fundraising requirement and include an event T-shirt. All surplus proceeds support Talan’s Trust, which raises awareness and funds research into childhood cancers.
