Event Overview
The Trick or Trot Crab Trot 5K is an annual community run and walk held on Cobb Island, Maryland. This event welcomes participants of all ages and fitness levels, including runners, joggers, and walkers. The course is set at Fisherman's Field and follows a route around the perimeter of the island. Participants can observe views of Neale Sound, the Potomac River, and the Wicomico River during the race.
Logistics and Participation
This event is held rain or shine. Registration includes a race bib, a finisher medal, a commemorative t-shirt, and snacks provided both before and after the race. Packet pick-up is available the evening before the event at the Cobb Island Citizens Association Hall, with additional pick-up options available on the morning of the race at the starting location. Overland Timing provides chip timing for all participants.
Recognition and Categories
While the event encourages a fun atmosphere with a prize for the best crab-themed costume or attire, it also recognizes athletic performance. Medals are awarded to the top male and female finishers across several age categories, ranging from ages 11 and under to 80 and up. Proceeds from the registration fees support the Cobb Island Citizens Association, a non-profit organization that funds various community opportunities and local events.
