Shamrock 5K Run/Walk
The 11th annual Shamrock 5K Run/Walk takes place in Bel Alton, Maryland. The event is centered at the Bel Alton Fire Department and is a short walk from Ape Hangers Bar & Grill.
The event includes these distances:
- 5K Run/Walk through the streets of Bel Alton
- Lil' Leprechaun 650-meter run for ages 10 and under
Race packets can be picked up on Saturday, March 14 and Sunday, March 15 at Ape Hangers Bar & Grill. Parking is staged at Ape Hangers, with overflow directed to the Bel Alton Fire Department field.
Participants registered by February 28 receive a t-shirt. All participants receive a post race buffet ticket at Ape Hangers Bar & Grill. Awards are planned for top qualifiers in each age group and for the best St. Patricks' Day costume. Post-race food, awards and entertainment are provided at Ape Hangers.
The early bird registration fee is listed as $40, increasing to $45 on 1/1/2025 and to $50 on 3/1/2026. This year's beneficiary is Clements Cuties, an organization that raises awareness and supports local families affected by childhood cancers in Southern Maryland.
