12th Annual Tri-Valley Turkey Burn
The Tri-Valley Turkey Burn takes place on Thanksgiving morning at Ken Mercer Sports Park in Pleasanton, California. This annual community event is organized by the Pleasanton North Rotary Club & Foundation to support local youth service programs. The event offers distances for different levels of activity through the park grounds.
Participants can choose between two main distances:
- 5K run, walk, or stroll
- 10K run, walk, or stroll
The event is designed to be accessible for families and dog owners, provided that dogs remain on a leash. Local attendees can participate with strollers, and children under the age of ten have a specific registration tier, while babies in strollers may join at no cost. Each registered participant receives a finisher medal upon completion of their distance.
Before the activity begins, the event features a pre-race warm-up session and a station where participants can design their own race bibs to indicate what they are thankful for. On-site amenities include pre-race coffee, post-race snacks, and a sponsor expo featuring various non-profit booths. While the registration fee covers the event entry and medal, commemorative shirts, hats, socks, and sunglasses are available for separate purchase. Packet pickup is held both the day before the event and on Thanksgiving morning at the sports park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
