ZombieRunner Quarry Lakes
ZombieRunner Quarry Lakes takes place at the Quarry Lakes Regional Recreation Area in Fremont, California. The events start at the Ensenada Pavilion and follow the Alameda Creek Trail toward the mouth of Niles Canyon. The courses are flat and consist of outdoor surfaces.
Participants can choose from several distances:
- Half Marathon (USATF certified)
- 10 km
- 5 km
- Kid's Run (50-yard dash for ages 6 and under)
The 5 km and 10 km courses are composed entirely of crushed rock. The Half Marathon course features a mix of 64% crushed rock and 36% asphalt. All events have a total time limit of 4 hours.
The event operates as a cupless race to reduce waste. Runners are encouraged to bring their own hydration containers to use at the fully-stocked aid stations, which are located every 2-5 miles. These stations provide water, electrolyte drinks, fruit, and snacks. All finishers receive a custom medal, and t-shirts are provided to pre-registered participants. The event is timed using electronic bib tags, and results are updated regularly on race day. Entrance to the park is included for participants. Dogs are not permitted on the course.
