Girls on the Run Bay Area 5K Celebration
The event is a season closing celebratory 5K held at Marina Park in San Leandro, CA on Saturday, November 14, 2026. The 5K distance is 3.1 miles and the event is presented as a non timed, community celebration that gives program participants a tangible sense of accomplishment.
All program participants receive a commemorative medal. Program participants and coaches are registered automatically when they register for the season and do not need to register separately. Family members, friends and other community members may register to participate.
Registration fees are listed for runners and Running Buddies. Early registration through October 21 is $45 and increases to $55 afterward; the fee includes a non timed runner bib and a Girls on the Run Bay Area branded gift. Spectating has no cost. Merchandise will be available for sale at the event.
Running Buddies complete the 5K alongside a participant and serve as a motivator, pace setter and cheerleader. If a Running Buddy is assigned, they will be notified by email before the event and will check in at their team table on event day to be matched.
The event is held rain or shine. Strollers and pets are welcome and the council expects roughly 1500 participants. Volunteers support set up and tear down, registration, course marshalling, water stations and cheer stations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
