Tri-State Warrior Run
The Tri-State Warrior Run on October 25, 2026 takes place at the Illinois Veterans Home grounds in Quincy, IL. The event includes in-person running and walking distances plus virtual race options. Net proceeds benefit Tri-State Warrior Outreach, which supports unmet needs of area veterans and their families since 2012.
Distances offered include:
- 1 Mile walk for veterans and non veterans
- 5K run for veterans and non veterans
- 10K run for veterans and non veterans
- Half Marathon for veterans and non veterans
- Kids Fun Run for ages 10 and under, 100 m and 200 m
- Virtual 5K, 10K and Half Marathon options
The in-person routes start and finish on the historic grounds of the Illinois Veterans Home, built in 1886. Course features noted in the route description include historic architecture, wooded areas, the Deer Park, US military memorials and the Avenue of Flags. The 5K, 10K and Half Marathon routes travel hills through Sunset Cemetery, pass the Medal of Honor Memorial and follow part of the Cedar Creek Trail before returning to the veterans home grounds.
Chip timing will be used for timed events, and routes cross railroad tracks so an unexpected break is possible if a train passes. Dog tag style medals are given to all event finishers. Parking is available by the Administration Building and south of the main drive near Lake Illinois; participants are asked not to park on the veteran home roads.
