Hull of a Race
The 2026 Hull of a Race takes place in Hull, Illinois, marking the 20th year of this event. The primary focus of the gathering is to raise funds for the American Parkinson's Disease Association research. Participants can engage in various timed activities that start and finish at 290 Main Street, at the corner of Main and Dixie streets in downtown Hull.
The available distances include:
- 0.25 Miles Kids Fun Run
- 5K Competitive Run
- 5K Fun Walk, Wheelchair, and Stroller Roll
- 10K Competitive Run
The 5K and 10K courses are USATF certified and lead participants through the village of Hull and the surrounding rural landscape, passing local corn and soybean fields. All 5K and 10K events are professionally chip timed, with overall awards based on gun time and age group awards determined by net time. For the 5K Fun Walk, Wheelchair, and Baby Stroller Roll, running is strictly prohibited to ensure a fair timing environment for walkers.
The event provides specific accommodations for attendees with Parkinson's, including a dedicated viewing area with a tent, seating, and specialized parking near the start and finish lines. Participants also have the option to wear memorial or honor name badges to recognize individuals affected by Parkinson's disease. Following the races, trophied awards and ribbons are presented across various age groups, ranging from 9 and under to 70 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
