Hull of a Race 2026
Hull of a Race takes place on August 15, 2026 in Hull, Illinois. Timed events start and finish at 290 Main Street at the corner of Main and Dixie, across from the southwest corner of the park.
The event program includes the following races and rolls:
- Kids 1/4 Mile
- Timed 5K Competitive Run
- Timed Fun Walk Wheel Chair and Baby Stroller Roll (running prohibited)
- Timed 10K Competitive Run
The event is organized as a fundraiser for the American Parkinson Disease Association research. In 2025 the race donated $26,000 and had 241 registered runners. Organizers report improvements made to accommodate participants with Parkinsons, including a dedicated viewing area with a tent, seating, cooling fans, and specific parking near the start and finish. Memorial and honor name badges for Parkinsons heroes will be provided.
The 5K and 10K courses are USATF certified, IL22004NM and IL22005NM, and they weave through the village of Hull and surrounding countryside past corn and soybean fields. The 5K and 10K are professionally chip timed by It's Race Time, Inc. Overall awards use gun time and age group awards use net chip time. Awards include trophies, medallions, and ribbons. Shirts are guaranteed for entries received by August 1. Entry fees vary by event and registration date. The race is held rain or shine; lightning may postpone or cancel. Packet pickup is available Friday night August 14 at the downtown park and Saturday morning at the park shelter next to the fire station.
