Trent Waldron Half Marathon and 10K
The Trent Waldron Half Marathon and 10K takes place on Saturday, May 29, 2027 at Margaret Sullivan Park on West 15th Avenue, Westchester Lagoon. The event offers the following distances:
- Half marathon
- 10K
Both races start and finish at Westchester Lagoon. The half marathon is an out-and-back along the Chester Creek and University trails. The course is described as relatively flat with the outbound portion a gradual uphill. Aid stations are located at miles 3, 5.5, 7.5, and 10. The half marathon course holds a USTAF certification number AK25002FW.
A virtual version is available for participants who prefer to run elsewhere and receive a medal by mail within 45 days. Virtual participants are asked to follow pedestrian safety ordinances, use sidewalks where available, and run against traffic if no sidewalk or multi use trail is present.
Bib pickup is scheduled for Thursday, May 27, 2027 from 4:30 to 6:30 PM with additional pickup on race morning at Westchester Lagoon. Late registration begins after 11:59 PM on May 21, 2027. Race entry fees are non refundable and non transferable.
The event raises funds for the Anchorage Young Cancer Coalition. Dogs are not allowed; strollers are permitted but should start from the back. The race was established in the late 1990s and has evolved to its current format. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
