Trek the Forest, Rotorua - Kiwi Walk & Run
Trek the Forest takes place at Lake Tikitapu (Blue Lake) on 17 October 2026 and offers three marked trail distances.
- 5.5 km short loop around Lake Tikitapu
- 13.7 km mid course through forest and lake viewpoints
- 15.6 km long course into deeper forest
The short course follows paths around the lake. The mid and long courses extend into Whakarewarewa forest and include views of Green Lake and areas of old growth forest. Track condition is approximately 90% well formed track and 10% more technical single track.
Elevation gain is listed per course: short 96 m, mid 421 m, long 479 m. Course maps and interactive route videos are provided for each distance. The event notes an event village with a start and finish area near the Blue Lake Top 10 Holiday Park.
