Trails & Tails
Trails & Tails is a timed trail event in the East Yorkshire countryside for runners and Canicross participants. The next event is on Sunday 6th September 2026 and offers two measured route options:
- 4-mile route on runnable trails
- 8-mile route on runnable trails
The event is based at Field House Coffee Barn, which provides parking, proper toilets, and on-site food and drink available at the finish. Event tops are prepared and can be collected at Field House on event day.
This is a chipped event with medals for all finishers, prizes, and specific awards for dogs. Starts are staggered, with canine runners setting off before solo runners. The event timing aligns with the main Canicross season (September to March/April) and follows DogFit guidance to reduce the risk of overheating.
Canicross participants must use a purpose-built Canicross harness and line; everyday walking harnesses and restrictive styles such as Julius K9 chest-strap designs are not permitted at the start. Up to two dogs per runner are allowed, provided the dogs and handlers are comfortable and safe on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
