Sundowner Triathlon
The Sundowner Triathlon takes place on 12 September 2026 at Allerthorpe Lakeland Park near Pocklington, York. The event is organised by U Prevail Events and offers multiple race formats on and around the park lake and surrounding roads.
The swim takes place in a shallow man‑made lake with clear water and depths of approximately 5 ft to 7 ft, allowing entrants the option to stand in places. The lake is sheltered from wind so conditions are generally flat.
The bike leg follows quiet country lanes around the park and nearby villages. The course is open to traffic, is well signed and the bike leg is non draft legal for all competitors.
The run is a flat trail route around the lake that is spectator friendly. This year the route avoids the canal tow path and has been adjusted accordingly.
Available race formats include:
- Sprint Triathlon : 750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run
- Olympic Triathlon : 1500m swim, 45km bike, 10km run
