Sundowner Triathlon at Allerthorpe Lakeland Park
The Sundowner Triathlon takes place on 12 September 2026 at Allerthorpe Lakeland Park, Pocklington, York. The event offers multiple race formats over open-water swim, road cycling and lakeside trail running. Organisers report that the 2025 edition returned the event to the calendar and that lessons from that year informed changes for 2026.
The swim takes place in a shallow, clear, man-made lake with depths of approximately 5 to 7 feet. The venue is sheltered from wind and the water is typically flat. The bike leg uses quiet country lanes around the park and nearby villages; the course is open to traffic, well signed and non-draft legal. The run follows a flat trail around the lake and has been adjusted this year to avoid the canal tow path.

- Sprint Triathlon: 750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run
- Olympic Triathlon: 1500m swim, 45km cycle, 10km run
- 70.3 Triathlon: 1900m swim, 90km cycle, 21km run
- Olympic Triathlon Relay: 1500m swim, 45km cycle, 10km run
- 70.3 Triathlon Relay: 1900m swim, 90km cycle, 21km run
- Olympic Aquabike: 1500m swim, 45km cycle
- 70.3 Aquabike: 1900m swim, 90km cycle
- Olympic Aquathlon: 1500m swim, 10km run
- 70.3 Aquathlon: 1900m swim, 21km run
Participants must hold British Triathlon membership or purchase a single-use Race Pass for an additional £8.00. Included services noted by the organiser are chip timing, marshals, aid stations, medical support, bike mechanic support, finisher medal and T-shirt, athlete village, parking, toilets and on-site refreshments.
