Sundowner Triathlon : Allerthorpe Lakeland Park
The Sundowner Triathlon takes place on 12 September 2026 at Allerthorpe Lakeland Park, Pocklington, York. The event returned to the calendar in 2025 and will be staged again in 2026 with adjustments made following the previous running.
The course uses a man-made lake for the swim. The water is described as clear and shallow, with depths between 5 ft and 7 ft and sheltered conditions that keep the surface flat. The bike leg follows quiet country lanes around the park and nearby villages on a flat open-road course that is well signed, open to traffic, and non-draft legal. The run follows a flat trail around the lake, arranged to be spectator friendly and avoiding the canal tow path this year.
Support and event services include mechanical and medical support, marshalled and way-marked routes, well stocked aid stations (special needs accommodated), chip timing, and complimentary race photography. Facilities listed are an athlete village, finishers medal and t-shirt, on-site parking, toilets and changing, refreshments and a cafe. Camping is available at additional cost via the venue.
Entry requires British Triathlon membership or a single-use Race Pass (£8) to meet insurance and licence requirements.
