Sundowner Triathlon
The Sundowner Triathlon takes place at Allerthorpe Lakeland Park on 11 September 2027 and offers multiple triathlon formats and race distances around the park's lake and surrounding roads.
Race distances include:
- Sprint Triathlon – 750m Swim, 21.5km Bike, 5km Run
- Olympic Triathlon – 1500m Swim, 43.8km Cycle, 10km Run
- 70.3 Triathlon – 1900m Swim, 87.5km Cycle, 20km Run
- Olympic Relay – 1500m Swim, 43.8km Cycle, 10km Run
- 70.3 Relay – 1900m Swim, 87.5km Cycle, 20km Run
- Olympic Aquabike – 1500m Swim, 43.8km Cycle
- 70.3 Aquabike – 1900m Swim, 87.5km Cycle
- Olympic Aquathlon – 1500m Swim, 10km Run
- 70.3 Aquathlon – 1900m Swim, 20km Run
The swim takes place in a man-made lake with calm, shallow clear water and depths around 5–7 ft. The bike course uses quiet country lanes and villages on a fast, flat open-road route that is non-draft legal, well signed, and open to traffic. The run follows grass and gravel trails around the lakes; the surface is flat and spectator-friendly with some technical sections.
All participants must hold a British Triathlon race licence or purchase a single-use Race Pass. On-site camping is available at additional cost. Included for participants are a finishers medal, finishers T-shirt, athlete village, chip-timed results, aid stations, marshals, race photography, bike mechanic support, parking, changing facilities, and medical cover.
