Brass Monkey Half Marathon 2027
The Brass Monkey Half Marathon takes place on 17 January 2027 at York Racecourse, based in the Ebor Stand near York city centre and the railway station. The event offers 1,800 places and uses a ballot entry process for allocation; deferred entries from 2026 are handled before the ballot reallocation.
The route is a flat, fast loop heading south from the racecourse, with three water stations on course and water available at the finish. There are no toilets on the course. A lead vehicle with timing clock and a sweep vehicle with first aid will operate on the route. The course is certified by the Association of UK Course Measurers, a UK Athletics Road Race Licence has been applied for, and the event holds UK Athletics Gold Grade. The course is suitable for wheelchair and frame athletes. Gun time is used for prize and place decisions.
Race base facilities include seating in the Ebor Stand, toilets, refreshments, a staffed baggage station and two changing areas; no showers are available. Free parking is provided at the racecourse until the stated parking deadline on race day and marshals will direct vehicles. No on the day registrations are available.
Entry fees are £28 for UKA affiliated club members and £30 for non affiliated runners, plus an administration fee applied by the online entry system. Transfers, deferrals and refund policies follow the published procedures and deadlines. Headphones that cover or go in the ear are not permitted unless medically prescribed.
