Dark Skies Run @ Kielder 11
Dark Skies Run @ Kielder 11 is an 11 mile night trail race at Kielder Waterside in Northumberland on 6 March 2027. The route starts and finishes at Kielder Waterside, goes north toward Kielder Viaduct and returns to the start. The course is waymarked and marshalled, with multiple checkpoints along the route. The event must be completed within three hours.
Entry benefits for participants include a bespoke finisher medal, electronic timing and instant online results, feed stations offering water and sweets (with more substantial snacks on longer events), free event parking and digital race photography. A race t shirt is available to purchase. Prizes are awarded for first male and female finishers and for age categories.
Medical provision includes first aid equipment at a checkpoint and paramedic and ambulance cover at the start and finish; the nearest local hospital is Hexham General Hospital. Competitors are responsible for their own navigation. Mandatory kit must be carried at all times and includes a whistle, a head chest or waist torch, a survival bag or foil blanket, hat and gloves, a quality waterproof jacket, a minimum of 500 ml water, a personal cup, emergency food and a fully charged phone.
