Trail of Two Cities 5K : Ocean City to Somers Point
The Trail of Two Cities is a point-to-point 5 kilometer (3.1 miles) run/walk that follows the length of the Route 52 causeway from Ocean City to Somers Point. The course uses the roadway lanes typically reserved for vehicles and finishes at John F. Kennedy Park in Somers Point. The awards ceremony is held at JFK Park after participants complete the course.
Registration opens on Feb. 1. Options include online registration through the city portal and in-person registration or pre-packet pickup at the Ocean City Aquatic & Fitness Center (1735 Simpson Avenue, Ocean City). Advance packet pickup is available Friday, Nov. 6 at the Aquatic & Fitness Center. Registration fees follow a tiered schedule: $30 through Oct. 25, 2026; $30 from Oct. 26 through Nov. 4 online; $35 for in-person registration or pre-packet pickup on Nov. 5 and Nov. 6; and $40 for on-site registration on Nov. 7. Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Buses are provided at the finish line in Somers Point to transport participants to the start at the Ocean City Transportation Center at 9th Street and Haven Avenue, and buses are available to return participants to Ocean City after the race.
All proceeds benefit Ocean City Recreation Scholarships and Programs and the Somers Point Education Foundation.
Awards are given to top overall finishers by gender and non-binary category, and to the top three in age groups 8-and-under, 9-11, 12-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80-and-over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
