Event Details
The Trail of Two Cities 5k Run/Walk is a 5-kilometer (3.1-mile) race. It starts at 8 a.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2026.
Registration
Registration opens on February 1st.
- Online registration is available at ocnj.recdesk.com.
- Race-day registration is from 7 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. at the Ocean City Transportation Center (945 Haven Avenue, Ocean City). Packet pickup occurs during the same hours.
- Advanced packet pickup is from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, November 6th at the Ocean City Aquatic & Fitness Center (1735 Simpson Avenue, Ocean City).
The registration fee structure is as follows:
- $30 through October 25, 2026.
- $30 from October 26 to November 4th online until 4 p.m.
- $35 for in-person registration or pre-packet pickup on November 5th-6th at the Ocean City Aquatic & Fitness Center.
- $40 for race-day registration.
The entry fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
Course Information
This is a point-to-point course that travels from Ocean City to Somers Point. The route uses the length of the Route 52 causeway, running in the lanes normally reserved for car traffic. The race start is at the Ocean City Transportation Center at 9th Street and Haven Avenue. The finish line is at John F. Kennedy Park in Somers Point.
Transportation
Buses will be available at the finish line at John F. Kennedy Park to transport participants to the starting line in Ocean City before the race. The last bus to the start will leave at 7:30 a.m. Buses will also be available after the race to transport runners back to Ocean City.
Awards
An awards ceremony will be held at John F. Kennedy Park after all participants have finished. Awards will be given to the top overall male, female, and non-binary finishers. Age group awards will be given to the top three finishers in the following categories: 8-and-under, 9-11, 12-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80-and-over.
Beneficiaries
All proceeds benefit the Ocean City Recreation Scholarships and Programs, and the Somers Point Education Foundation.
