Trail of Two Cities 5k Run / Walk

The Trail of Two Cities is a point-to-point 5 km (3.1 miles) race connecting Ocean City and Somers Point. The course follows the Route 52 causeway, utilizing the lanes typically reserved for vehicular traffic, and offers views along the entire stretch of the bridge.

The event starts at the Ocean City Transportation Center at 9th Street and Haven Avenue. The route concludes at John F. Kennedy Park in Somers Point. To assist participants, buses are available at the finish line at Kennedy Park to transport runners to the starting line before the event. Following the completion of the race, transportation is also provided to return participants back to Ocean City.

The competition features several award categories, including:

  • 5 km Overall: Top Male, Female, and Non-Binary finishers.
  • 5 km Age Groups: Top three finishers in divisions ranging from 8-and-under to 80-and-over.

The awards ceremony takes place at JFK Park in Somers Point once all participants have finished. Proceeds from the event are used to support Ocean City Recreation scholarships and programs, as well as the Somers Point Education Foundation.
