Event Overview
The Rooted Acres Endurance Race is a timed ultrarunning event held in Woodbine, New Jersey. The event takes place over a weekend in late April. Athletes can participate in individual or team formats across several time-based categories.
Events
Participants choose from the following events:
- 24 hour
- 12 hour
- 6 hour
- 24 Hour Relay (2-4 person)
- 12 Hour Relay (2-4 person)
The race follows a format where athletes complete as many laps as possible within their chosen time frame. Each lap is a 5.5-mile loop consisting of dirt trails with very few roots. Participants must cross a timing mat at the start and finish of each lap and may take as long as desired between laps. A final lap must be completed before the designated finish time to be counted.
Venue and Amenities
The race starts and finishes at Rooted Acres NJ. The venue offers various amenities including a full kitchen, hot and cold showers, bathrooms, a sauna, a cold plunge, and fire pits. On-site accommodation includes tent camping, with cabins and yurts available at a discounted price on a first-come, first-served basis.
Location and Family Activities
The property is located next to Belleplain State Park, which offers trails for biking and hiking as well as a lake. The Cape May Zoo is also minutes away.
