Event

Nine Standards is a mountain race held in Kirkby Stephen, England. The course is an out-and-back on the hills above the town, starting in the market square (CA17 4QT) with registration at the Kirkby Stephen Mountain Rescue Base, Christian Head (CA17 4HA). The race is categorised BM and covers 8 miles (12.9 km) with 549 m (1801 ft) of climb. From 2026 onwards the route will be considered a new course because of extensive path improvements.

Entry, rules and other details

Pre-entry is required and entries open 19 November 2025 and close 29 December 2025. Entry fees are £10.00 for FRA members and £12.00 for non-members. Minimum age is 18 on the event date. The event is licenced by the FRA under UKA rules and has associated permit/insurance. Full FRA kit is compulsory and kit checks will be carried out. Teams are allowed.
