Event details
The McTaggart Trot is a team-format fun run held in Eppleby Village, postcode DL11 7AT, on Sunday 21 December 2025. The course is a 3.1 mile (5 km) loop on road and pavement and is described as undulating. The event is sponsored by Dales Runner and aims to raise funds for St Teresa's Hospice. Maximum entry is 350. Minimum age is 10 years. Transfers are closed.
Race format
Teams of three share the loop so that the slowest team member completes 3.1 miles (5 km), the middle runner completes 6.2 miles (10 km) and the fastest completes 9.3 miles (15 km). Teams start together at the slowest runner's pace. At the end of the first loop the first runner stops at the 5 km point and the remaining two continue. At the end of the second loop the second runner stops at the 10 km point and the final runner completes the third loop alone to the 15 km finish. Individuals can enter and will be allocated to a team based on their expected time.
Entry and fees
Entries close 20/12/2025. Available entry types list each distance with a fee of £12, which includes the transaction charge. The organiser is Darlington Harriers.
