Trackrun PB 5000m Series
Trackrun is a timed 5000m running event held on an athletics track at Collingwood Athletics Track in Clifton Hill, Melbourne. The 2026 Winter series is scheduled monthly from April to September 2026 with rounds on Saturday 18 April, Saturday 23 May, Saturday 20 June, Saturday 18 July, Saturday 22 August, and Saturday 19 September.
The event is organised by volunteers and designed to be open, welcoming and inclusive; runners do not need to be club members to participate. Results are recorded and published online and are described as unofficial. Each round has an entry fee of $15 that covers track hire, event costs and insurance. Entries remain open up until each heat starts.
Operational details are kept low-key. On arrival runners collect a bib number token from the finish area and choose which heat to run. Participants are asked to assemble at the start area a few minutes before their heat. Lap counting is the runner's responsibility, although organisers will track the lead runner on a board and ring a bell for the final lap. On finishing, runners slide their bib token onto the race result stick in order so results can be processed and posted shortly afterwards.
