Event Overview

The Brighton Beach Marathon is a road running event held in Brighton, Melbourne. The event supports the Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation.

Courses

The event offers four AIMS-certified distances:

  • Marathon (42.2 km)
  • Half Marathon (21.1 km)
  • 10 km
  • 5 km

The courses take place on Beach Road, which is described as fully closed to traffic. The route follows Melbourne's Bayside coastline.

Event Village and Schedule

The event village is located at Elsternwick Park in Brighton. It opens at 5:00 AM. Race starts are staggered:

  • Marathon starts at 6:00 AM.
  • Half Marathon starts at 7:00 AM.
  • 10 km starts at 8:45 AM.
  • 5 km starts at 9:20 AM.

All runners must be off the road by 11:00 AM, and the event concludes at 12:30 PM.

Registration and Logistics

Entry includes a race bib, electronic timing, finisher medals, on-course drink stations, and live tracking. Marathon finishers receive a finisher tee shirt. Training plans are provided.

Race pack collection is available in the days before the event, both at a pre-event location in Huntingdale and at the event village in Elsternwick Park. Online entries close on February 17th.

Fundraising
