Yarra River Running Festival 2026
The Yarra River Running Festival takes place on Sunday 23 August 2026 at Westerfolds Park in Templestowe, Victoria. The event offers multiple race distances and an event village on site.
Available distances include:
- 21.1 km Half Marathon
- 10 km
- 5 km
- 2 km Family Dash
The course runs on paved paths through the Westerfolds Loop before heading north alongside the Yarra River. There are a few short gravel sections adjacent to the river. All distances are chip timed by Multisport Australia. Water stations will provide water and electrolytes; locations include 4 km and 7.5 km for the 10 km, and additional stations for the half marathon at 4 km, 7.5 km, 14 km and 17.3 km. There are no cut off times for the 2 km, 5 km and 10 km events. The half marathon has a cut off time of 3.5 hours.
Each finisher receives a Yarra River event themed medal, post race refreshments, sponsor giveaways and an online finisher certificate. Race bibs are printed three weeks before the event and posted two weeks before race day when requested. A photographer will be present on course. Paths are shared with pedestrians and cyclists and participants are asked to be aware of others.
The 2 km Family Dash allows an accompanying adult to run with a registered child for an additional $10. The accompanying adult will not be timed and will not receive a finisher medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
