About the race
Total Recon Adventure Race is a multisport navigation event on the Fleurieu Peninsula at Victor Harbor, Australia. Teams of two or four compete across mapped legs that require trekking, running, mountain biking, kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding. The winner is the first team to collect all checkpoints in the prescribed order and cross the finish line within the cut-off time. Course options: - Full Course 24 hours, approximately 160 km - 2 Day Stage Race split between Saturday and Sunday, approximately 120–140 km - Short Course Saturday only, 6 hours Team categories include Mixed, Male and Female.
Four-person mixed teams form the Championship class and compete for ARWS series points. Entry fees are listed per team: Full Course 24 hour : $1200 for four, $650 for two; 2 Day Stage Race : $1100 for four, $550 for two; Short Course : $250. Entry includes accommodation at Adare House for Full Course and 2 Day Stage Race, kayak hire, waterproof maps, GPS trackers, medical staff, event merchandise and a post-event sausage sizzle. PFD and paddle hire is available for $20 per person.
Mandatory equipment follows the Adventure Racing World Series list with some local alterations; equipment checks and penalties for missing items apply.
