Granite Island Run
The Granite Island Run takes place at Victor Harbor, a coastal town located approximately one hour from Adelaide. This event features a course that traverses several regional landmarks, including the new causeway and Granite Island. Participants navigate a variety of surfaces such as tram lines, gravel trails, and sections with short, steep climbs and stairs.
The event offers three distinct distances for participants:
- Long Course
- Short Course
- Kids' Dash
Registration is open to runners of various levels. For the Long Course and Short Course, participants must be at least 12 years old unless accompanied by an adult. The Kids' Dash is held over the causeway and is suitable for both wheelchairs and prams. However, the longer distances are not suitable for wheelchairs or prams due to the steep terrain and stairs on the island.
The courses remain open until 9:30 am, and participants are permitted to run, jog, or walk as long as they finish by this time. Electronic transponder timing is used for all participants, with timing tags attached to the race bibs. While basic entry is provided, finisher medals and engraving are available as optional purchases.
Event facilities, including bib collection, bag drop, and merchandise, are located on the lawns in front of the Causeway Café. Because Granite Island is a protected area, dogs are not permitted on the course, with the exception of registered assistance dogs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
