Granite Island Run
The Granite Island Run is scheduled for 16 August 2026 in Victor Harbor. The event includes three race options:
- Long course
- Short course
- Kids' Dash
The island and surrounds feature a mix of surfaces and terrain, including a causeway, tram lines, gravel trails, stairs and a steep climb on Granite Island. These course features make the long and short courses unsuitable for wheelchairs and prams; the Kids' Dash over the causeway is suitable for both wheelchairs and prams. Dogs are not permitted on Granite Island except for assistance dogs; assistance dogs should be advised in advance to allow notification to the Department for Environment and Water.
Runners must be at least 12 years old on race day to enter the long or short course unless accompanied by an adult. Timing is electronic using a transponder tag on the back of the race bib; bibs should be attached at waist height on the outside front of participants' clothing and must not be covered. Results are published on the event results page and via the QR code on race bibs and are provisional until the Wednesday after the event.
Race packs are posted to those who selected postage about three weeks before the event. Packs can also be collected from The Running Company between 1 and 14 August 2026 at the specified stores; uncollected packs will be available on race weekend. A replacement bib fee applies.
Entry and transfer policies: online registration closes the Thursday before race weekend but in-person entries may be available on race morning if not sold out and are subject to additional fees. Transfers between registered runners are not permitted. Transfers between distances are allowed with fee adjustments; transfers to a shorter distance more than four weeks before race day receive a refund of the fee difference, while transfers within four weeks do not receive a refund. Medals and engraving are optional purchases. A basic refund option is available up to four weeks before the event subject to a 20 percent administration fee; an additional Diamond Cover option offers extended refund protection closer to race day.
