Granite Island Run
The Granite Island Run takes place on 16 August 2026 in Victor Harbor and uses paths around Granite Island and the nearby coast. The course includes a causeway, tram lines, gravel trails, stairs and a steep climb on Granite Island. Event categories include:
- Long course
- Short course
- Kids Dash on the causeway
Runners in the long and short courses must be at least 12 years old on race day unless accompanied by an adult. The Kids Dash is suitable for wheelchairs and prams; the long and short courses are not suitable for wheelchairs or prams. Dogs are not permitted on Granite Island except for assistance dogs; organisers request notification in advance for assistance dogs.
Entries can be completed online or on race morning if not sold out. In person entries on race morning incur additional fees for the long course and short course while the Kids Dash has no in person fee. Race packs can be posted about three weeks before the event or collected from The Running Company between Saturday 1 August and Friday 14 August 2026 at their Hyde Park and Christies Beach stores. Event marquees, bag drop and medical services are located on the lawns in front of the Causeway Café. Bag drop is unmanned so valuables should be left secure.
Electronic timing uses an electronic tag on the race bib. Runners must wear their bib at waist height on the outside front, keep it visible, and not use another runner’s bib. Replacement bibs incur a fee. Headphones are strongly discouraged to allow awareness of safety instructions and the course environment.
