Myponga Loop event summary
The Myponga Loop comprises a set of trail events held around Myponga Reservoir, including a long course that circumnavigates the reservoir and crosses the dam wall while closed to traffic. The short course and kids' dash run on established, groomed trails within the Myponga Reservoir Reserve.
- Long course: circumnavigation of Myponga Reservoir including a dam wall crossing.
- Short course: groomed reservoir trails; suitable for prams and wheelchairs though some hills exist.
- Kids' Dash: flat, groomed path suitable for prams and wheelchairs.
Entry and eligibility rules specify minimum ages: participants must be at least 15 years old for the long course and at least 12 years old for the short course unless accompanied by an adult. All courses have a designated cutoff time that entrants must meet. Online entries close at midnight on the Thursday before race day; in-person registration may be available on race morning and is subject to additional fees for the long and short courses.
Race packs may be posted about three weeks before race day or collected from The Running Company during specified pickup dates. A fenced paddock adjacent to Myponga Reservoir Reserve on Hansen Street hosts bib collection, bag drop, refreshments and massage; the bag drop tent is not manned. Electronic transponder timing is used; bibs contain timing tags and should be attached at waist height on the outside front. Replacement bibs incur a fee.
