Tortoise and the Hare Trail Races

The Tortoise and the Hare Trail Races take place in Salisbury, Massachusetts, at Lions Park. This annual event is held during Easter weekend and serves as a fundraiser for Salisbury Parks and Recreation. It typically attracts approximately 500 participants each year for an early season gathering on the trails.

The event offers three distinct distances for participants:

  • 10K (6.2 miles)
  • 5K (3.1 miles)
  • 1 Mile Color Run

The 1 Mile Color Run is a non-timed event focused on a visual experience. At every quarter-mile mark, those taking part are doused with different colored powders. Participants are encouraged to wear white clothing at the start line to showcase the various colors accumulated by the time they reach the finish. The 5K and 10K events provide longer trail options for runners looking for standard race distances.

Registration for the races occurs in the months leading up to the event, with different closing dates depending on the specific distance chosen. The venue is located at 8 Lions Way within the local park system. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
