Top Gun Triathlon - St Petersburg
Top Gun Triathlon is a USAT-sanctioned multi-event race held at Fort DeSoto in St Petersburg, Florida. The event on August 1, 2026 features several sprint-format competitions, including sprint triathlon (individual and relay), sprint duathlon (individual and relay), sprint aqua-bike, and a Clydesdale-Athena division. All participants receive a custom finisher medal at the finish line.
Race services include packet pick-up on race morning, with a strong recommendation to collect packets earlier at PlayTri in Sarasota (Thursday) or OutSpokin Bicycles in Clearwater (Friday). Packet pick-up requires a photo ID and proof of current USAT membership; athletes without membership must purchase a one-day USAT license. One relay team member may pick up all relay packets for the team.
The venue operates a closed course on the roads within Fort DeSoto during the race for safety. Awards are given across multiple categories: overall male and female, age-group awards (1st through 4th), masters and grand masters, club award for the club with the most participants, and specific awards for aqua-bike, Clydesdale, and Athena divisions. A special first-timer info session is scheduled at the PlayTri store in St. Petersburg on Friday, July 31 at 4:30 pm for new or inexperienced athletes.
