About the race
The Sharks Masters Swimming Club Tonyrefail Aquathlon combines a pool swim with a park run. Competitors complete a 400m swim in Tonyrefail Leisure Centre pool before moving to Tonyrefail Park for a 5km run on a flat, good-quality tarmac course. Marshals are placed around the course to provide support and guidance. The park remains open to the public and competitors are asked to be considerate of other park users.
Facilities at the venue include accessible changing, accessible showers and accessible toilets, general changing and shower facilities, catering and parking. The event uses chip timing and awards a finishers medal; results are published on the event website. The transition area between swim and run is very short.
The event is scheduled for 4 October 2026 in Tonyrefail, Wales, and the organiser expects about 190 competitors. Competitors are advised to come prepared for typical autumn weather conditions. The event is presented as inclusive and community oriented, with measures in place to assist participants with access needs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
