Castle 2 Castle 2026 is a Velindre Cancer Charity fundraising run taking place on 20 September 2026. The route runs from Caerphilly to Cardiff and covers 10.5 miles. The event has a registration fee of £38, a recommended fundraising target of £50, and a minimum participant age of 16.
The route includes small climbs around Caerphilly and passes through scenic parts of Cardiff. Event support includes dedicated fundraising advice from the charity team, an Event Pack with registration information and itinerary, and a Runners Pack containing a running number, a Running For bib, an official event t shirt, and a bespoke medal. Water stations are provided along the route by Brecon Carreg, and finish line refreshments and stalls are provided by Peter's Foods and Castle Dairies.
Recent editions attracted large numbers and fundraising totals; one year saw 1,581 participants and total fundraising of £151,000. If all participants reach the £50 target, the event organisers estimate an additional £87,500 could be raised. The charity sets out examples of how funds are used, including provision of soft toys for families, complementary therapy sessions, one to one counselling, support for clinical trials, and potential funding for Clinical Nurse Specialists' salaries.
