Castle 2 Castle 2026
Castle 2 Castle is a fundraising run organised by Velindre Cancer Charity on 20 September 2026. The event follows a 10.5 mile route from Caerphilly to Cardiff in Wales, featuring small climbs and scenic sections between the two towns.
Registration costs £38 and participants are asked to meet a fundraising target of £50. The event is open to people aged 16 and over. In the previous year more than 1,581 runners took part and the event raised £151,000.
Registered participants receive an Event Pack with full registration information and an event itinerary, and a Runners Pack that includes a running number, a "Running For" bib, an official event t-shirt, and a bespoke medal. Water stations are provided along the route by the event sponsor Brecon Carreg. Finish line refreshments and stalls are provided by Peter’s Foods and Castle Dairies.
Funds raised support services at Velindre, including provision of comfort teddies for families, complementary therapy sessions to help manage symptoms and anxiety, and one-hour specialist counselling sessions. If all participants meet the £50 fundraising target, the organiser estimates an additional £87,500 could be raised, which could support clinical trials or fund Clinical Nurse Specialist salaries.
