Porthkerry 5MT
The Porthkerry 5MT is a 5 mile mixed terrain race held within Porthkerry Country Park in the Vale of Glamorgan. The course lies mostly inside the park and offers views across the Bristol Channel and the Glamorgan Heritage Coast. The 2026 event marks the race's 20th anniversary.
For 2026 the organisers have set entry prices at £10 and £12 and have confirmed that entries are open. The event will incorporate the South Wales Regional Trail Championship for eligible runners. The organisers have applied for a Welsh Athletics licence.
The route follows the same course used in 2024 and 2025 and is reported to be fast with about 95% of the route inside the park. Surfaces include open grassland, woodland paths, trails and tarmac paths. The course contains two climbs, several fast flat sections and a few quick descents, with a first mile that runs through The Meadow and later sections that pass the shoreline, Viaduct Wood and the Cwm Barri area before a final run back along The Meadow.
Prizes are awarded to the first three men and women and to age group winners. A completion time limit of 1 hour 15 minutes applies to the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
