Tissington Trail Half Marathon Weekend
The event is a half marathon run along the Tissington Trail, a former railway line between Ashbourne and Buxton. The course follows a 13 mile route from Parsley Hay to Ashbourne on a traffic free trail. The event takes place over two days in September, with the option to enter either the Saturday or the Sunday race.
The trail maintains a slight downhill gradient for much of the route and provides views over the Derbyshire Dales. Coaches transport participants from Race HQ at Ashbourne Leisure Centre to the race start at Parsley Hay. Race HQ is located at Ashbourne Leisure Centre, Ashbourne, Derbyshire DE6 1AA.
Advance entries are shown at £38; on the day entry is listed as £45 subject to availability. Entrants must be aged 17 or over on the date of the race. Detailed route maps, including GPX files, are available for download. Included with entry are a bespoke medal, free photographs, and trophies and prizes for leading runners. There is car parking in Ashbourne Town Centre and a small car park at the leisure centre where standard parking charges apply. Bus services run from Derby to Ashbourne Leisure Centre.
