The Whitworth Thread
The Whitworth Thread is a regular timed run organised by Matlock Athletic Club in Whitworth Park, Darley Dale, Matlock. The course covers 5 km laid out as three laps around the park. The designated meeting point is by the monument at the top of Whitworth Park.
The event is scheduled on the second Saturday of each month and the next listed date is Saturday 12 September 2026. The regular format is a timed, officiated run. Participants may also choose to take part as a "Loose Thread" which follows the same route without the officiating.
